Overview
TV program list and program recording application, designed for Consoll IPTV services. The application provides flexibility to TV users, by allowing them to broswe the comming 5 days of TV programme on all channels available to them, scheduling to record TV programs they are interested in and to watch the recorded programs whenever they are available.
The interface was designed within several technical constraints that made it hard to deliver an ideal experience for the end user. The primary constraint was that the project was limited to design the on-screen part of the interface, while users would rely on their pre-installed set top boxes and remote controls for interaction. The remote control of the Consoll IPTV service prooved to be poorly suited for this type of application.
In the design, I have worked around the constraints of the remote control trying to provide the best possible user experience. Subsequently, I worked on a proposal for a cost-efficient re-design of the remote control.
Context
From August 2008 to July 2009, I was employed by Consoll AS as an interaction designer, working with user interfaces for the Web and TV sets, and contributing to various projects concepts, wireframes, user studies and graphic design.

Redesign the remote control
During the process, I did interviews with several Consoll staff, mainly with employees in the customer service department - the people with the most knowledge of what issues the customers have towards Consoll's IPTV service. At the end of each interview, I asked the interviewee to do a quick sketch for the new remote control.
